Transforming lived experience, scholarship, healing, restorative practice, and leadership into a developmental framework centered on men and boys.
Richard's understanding of masculinity was shaped in Harlem, where strength, protection, endurance, and survival carried real meaning. Like many boys, he encountered expectations about manhood before receiving language for trauma, grief, emotional complexity, or the interior experiences shaping his choices.
His life included childhood sexual abuse, gun violence, and nearly a decade of incarceration beginning at twenty-one. Those experiences did not make him broken, but they shaped how he understood safety, identity, power, responsibility, and what men learn to carry without language.
What followed was not a simple reinvention. It was a long process of reflection, healing, education, accountability, and service. Richard studied Africana Studies and Social Welfare, developed expertise in trauma and restorative justice, taught graduate research methods, supported survivors, advised organizations, and helped communities build healing-centered approaches to safety and transformation.
From that life emerged Divine Masculinity: a developmental framework that treats lived experience as curriculum and healing as capacity development. It helps men understand what shaped us, take responsibility for our impact, and expand our ability to love, lead, heal, protect, create, and contribute.
Richard writes, teaches, facilitates, consults, and speaks about trauma, healing, masculinity, leadership, restorative practice, survivorship, and community transformation. His focus is not performance or reach for its own sake. It is building work with enough depth to matter across generations.
Today, Richard is building Divine Masculinity as an intellectual property ecosystem encompassing writing, assessment, curricula, coaching, certification, speaking, retreats, organizational learning, research, and community initiatives. He approaches the work as a practitioner and lifelong learner, grounding every model in reflection, accountability, lived experience, and responsible application.
His central teaching is clear: men are not broken. We are continually becoming. Strength is not measured only by what we can suppress, withstand, or control, but by our capacity to remain present, live our values, repair harm, use power responsibly, and contribute to something beyond ourselves.

The birth of Richard's daughter deepened an already urgent question: What are we building that will outlast us? Divine Masculinity became more than personal healing or professional practice. It became a commitment to create language, tools, and pathways that help men become more present fathers, partners, leaders, and ancestors.
